FRUIT FROM THE
USFAMILY TREE |
"I just want to inform you of how
pleased I am with your service!!! I received your information from a co-worker and am so
glad I took his advice to sign up with you. I was with Juno since January and was so very
disappointed in the service. I could do dishes and vacuum just while waiting to get on the
Internet. After being with you for two days, I was so happy to be able to come home from
work and accomplish what I needed to in no time. Thank you for your fast & efficient
service!"

"I just wanted to take the time to
thank you for being the best ISP I have had yet. I have been with AT&T, MSN and some
others, but USFamily.Net beats them all. Not only with the pricing, but the connectivity
issues and general tech issues are at a great level. I have had problems but they were
resolved swiftly. You guys have been really patient with me and that's great. Again, thank
you for being such a great ISP."

SHOP OUTSIDE THE
MALLS |
New Fashions through E-Bay
Okay, Cyber-Shoppers! No one has to convince you that shopping at midnight in
your jammies and bunny slippers is far superior to fighting for a parking space at The
Mall. You are ready for e-Bay! Shopping for clothing on e-Bay can be an especially good
deal. As with anything on this web site, a little pre-auction work helps. Even if
youve purchased clothing through other .coms, remember that e-Bay differs in that
youre buying from an individual, not a company. While some sellers readily and
easily accept returns, others are emphatic that once the auction closes, the item is
yours. Be sure to thoroughly read the description that accompanies anything that catches
your fancy. It may be useful to stick to clothing labels where you are certain that a
particular size always fits you well. The e-Bay search engine allows you to specify a
brand and size, if you desire.
Not all clothing offered on e-Bay is "gently worn." NWT signifies that the
item is New With Tags. Often one photograph of the item will be a close-up of the attached
tag to verify authenticity. Again, this can be specified when searching the site. NWOT
indicates New Without Tags and on this, youre probably taking your chances whether
or not the item truly is brand new.
Many sellers are surprisingly candid about the condition of used items (as in "one
small grease stain near the button where I dropped a French fry and didnt get to
wipe the ketchup off fast enough" and other tales of wear). If youre a fan of
consignment stores, you can find similar clothing on e-Bay.
Even though you dread the trip to the Mall, it helps to have an idea of the retail
prices of clothing you will bid on. You may not be able to find the identical item but you
can get a sense of what, for example, Ralph Lauren items are selling for before bidding on
that adorable corduroy skirt. "Hot" brands often command hot prices, even on
e-Bay.
Before bidding, check the shipping price. You may have to email the seller for this. A
great buy can be negated by a sky-high shipping charge.
A nice feature is the ability to enter a maximum bid that will allow you to stay in the
hunt for your item by automatically increasing your bid, even if someone else bids after
you. This works as long as their maximum bid is lower than yours. e-Bay will send an email
notice if you are outbid. If there is something you really want, monitor the item closely
as the auction draws to an end.
And when you get a compliment on the clothing delivered right to your door, its
entirely up to you whether you say, "I got it on e-Bay!" |
