Trouble connecting to our large modem
pool?
If you are one of the few users who have had
trouble connecting to our large modem pool (651-393-2600) it is time for one more try.
PPP Startup Problem:
In our research to improve our service we learned that a fairly large number of MAC users
and a few windows users with peculiar modems, failed to connect to our service during PPP
startup. This means that the modem connected but nothing would happen after
that. This apparently is a timing issue related to a "login" prompt.
For whatever reason the timing was slightly different on our smaller modem pools
(primarily 651-766-3500) allowing some users to connect to the smaller modem pools but not
the large pool. If you had this problem please try our normal large modem pool once
again.
We have adjusted all our switches to no longer
present a login prompt and this problem appears to be resolved. (If you had a script to ignore the login prompt you must now turn the script off.)
