Internet Setup Assistant

A. Locate the 'Assistants' folder on your hard drive, open it, and double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon.
B. Click the 'Yes' button.

C. Click the 'Yes' button.

1. Click the right arrow button.

2. Type _______________ and click the right arrow button. (the name of your ISP)

3. Click the right arrow button.

4. The phone number is __651-393-2600_
Your user ID is  (on the materials from usfamily.net)
Your password is  (on the materials from usfamily.net)

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

5. Select No and click the right arrow button.

6. Select No and click the right arrow button.

7. Your may leave all these fields blank. This information is
"hand-shaked" each time you connect.

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

8.  Your new email address is a "chicken and egg" problem. 
You don't have your new email address until you get online and register.
Please enter what you would like your new email address and password
to be and enter this later online when you register.  If that address is
taken or you change your mind you can update this later.

Your email address is ______________ @usfamily.net
Your password is _____________ . (whatever you want)
You can leave the 'greater than' symbol in the last box

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

 

9. Your email account is ________@usfamily.net . (enter the email address you selected again)
The email host is   mail.usfamily.net   (the SMTP server)

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

10. Your Newsgroup Host is news.usfamily.net

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

 

11. Select the no button.

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

 

Conclusion. Click the 'Go Ahead' button and your iMac will be ready for the Internet!
