OPTIMIZE YOUR COMPUTER'S DISK SPEED

Does your Computer seem to run slow? Does it seem to take longer each time you reboot?  While too little RAM, too many programs or viruses are the top problems, you may want to try running a system utility called ‘disk defragmenter’ that is already located on your Windows OS computer. If you added or deleted a lot of programs you should do this once a month, otherwise, once every 2 or 3 months should be sufficient.

Disk Defragmenter will put files and folders back into continuous units. This will improve your hard disks performance.

To run the ‘disk defragmenter’ (located on all Windows PC’s):

• Click on your start menu, located on the lower left corner of your screen.

• Proceed up to programs (Windows XP may have it listed under ‘all programs’), then click on accessories.

• Then click ‘disk defragmenter’.

• A smaller window will then open up. Towards the bottom of the window you will see analyze & defragment, choose analyze, this will let you know if you need this done to your PC.

If you have never gone thru this process it may take a long period of time to complete, but in the long run it will help your operating system find files faster and run smoother too.
